Matthew A .Tate was born at Colorado Springs, Colorado, on April 7, 1980.

Matt received a history degree from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, in 2006. He then received his law degree at Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas (J.D., with honors) where he obtained certificates in Oil and Gas Law and Environmental Law. While at Washburn, Matt was a staff writer for the Washburn Law Journal.

Matt is an active member of the Kansas and Barton county Bar Associations, and is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri.

Matt concentrates his practice on oil and gas, business litigation, Agricultural and water, and family law.
